Job Description
About the Role We are looking for a Gold Room Operator to work on an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth. You will be responsible for the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the gold room, including gravity, elution, electrowinning, and gold recovery processes at the Three Mile Hill gold processing plant.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor the gold room circuits, including gravity recovery, elution, electrowinning, and gold pouring activities.
Ensure gold recovery processes are optimised by operating within target parameters and reporting variances.
Maintain strict gold room security and access control protocols, ensuring compliance with site procedures.
Conduct routine inspections, sampling, and quality control activities to support metallurgical performance.
Monitor equipment condition and identify reliability or performance issues.
Perform minor maintenance and communicate maintenance requirements to relevant teams.
Respond effectively to plant upsets, including power failures, emergency shutdowns, and process abnormalities.
Maintain accurate and timely recording of production data and gold room activities.
Work closely with Metallurgists, Supervisors, and Maintenance teams to optimise plant performance.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, spill management, and environmental compliance.
Identify and report hazards, risks, and non-conformances within the gold room.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance recovery, efficiency, and safety.
Provide guidance and training to operators assisting in gold room activities.
Support consumables management and reagent usage within the gold room.
Attend and contribute to pre-start meetings and operational planning.
Assist with additional duties as required to support processing operations.
About You
Minimum 4–7 years’ experience in mineral processing, including 2+ years in gold room operations.
Proven ability to safely and competently operate gold room circuits, including:
Gravity recovery (e.g. Knelson concentrators)
Elution and carbon stripping circuits
Electrowinning and gold pouring
Strong understanding of gold room security, gold accounting, and compliance requirements.
Ability to monitor, interpret, and respond to plant conditions and process data.
Current Australian manual driver’s licence
