Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Health & Hygiene Coordinator to join the team on site working on an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth. You will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining workplace health, hygiene, and wellbeing programs across all operational areas. This role ensures compliance with WHS legislation and industry best practice relating to occupational exposure, hygiene monitoring, workers compensation & injury management, and health risk management including psychosocial and wellbeing initiatives.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Oversight and coordination of medical and emergency services team.
  • Coordinating the implementation and ongoing management of the Health, Hygiene & Wellbeing Management Plans.
  • Conduct Job Task Set-up reviews and Workplace reviews for ergonomic impacts and work closely with leadership to reduce soft tissue injuries.
  • Workers Compensation and Injury Management processes and systems.
  • Maintain working relationships with Mutual Aid Emergency Services agencies and/or personnel.
  • Managing potable water quality monitoring, testing, compliance, and reporting to ensure safe drinking water standards are maintained across site facilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant WHS legislation, including psychosocial risk requirements.
  • Maintaining systems for monitoring airborne contaminants, noise, vibration, heat stress, and other health hazards.
  • Supporting the development and review of health, hygiene, and wellbeing risk assessments and exposure control plans.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to employees and contractors regarding occupational health, hygiene and wellbeing risks.
  • Reporting and trending health, hygiene, and wellbeing data to identify risk patterns and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinating wellbeing initiatives, campaigns, and programs aligned with organisational health goals.
  • Supporting early intervention, injury prevention, and return‑to‑work processes.
  • Ensuring all hygiene monitoring equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used correctly.
  • Liaising with external occupational hygiene and wellbeing service providers where required.
  • Supporting incident investigations and responding to health‑related enquiries from regulatory bodies.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance practices, shutdown execution, and work management processes.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

  • Qualifications in Health or Hygiene related field.
  • Certificate III in Emergency Response & Rescue (or equivalent surface & UG).
  • HLTPAT005 - Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing.
  • Heavy Rigid (HR-B) Drivers Licence.
  • First Aid & CPR certified.
  • Minimum 5 years working in Mining, Oil and Gas, or Construction industries.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS legal and other requirements (Federal and state).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction in the Health & Hygiene field.
  • Provide guidance, advice, and support to members of the WHS Team to assist in their development.
