Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Training Coordinator to join the team on site working on an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the site Training and Competency Management System and oversight of training advisors and in crew training support staff.

The role covers the full training process, from determining site competency requirements and sourcing industry‑appropriate training materials, to delivering task‑specific training, completing VOCs and assessments, and ensuring all training data meets statutory and site compliance standards.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Develop, Implement and Coordinate site-wide Training and Competency Management System.
  • Development and ongoing management of integrated Learning Management Systems
  • Ensure statutory and site-required competencies are assigned and monitored.
  • Manage site inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Conduct VOCs and coordinate SMEs for assessments.
  • Develop and embed ELO and upskilling training programs
  • Maintain accurate and auditable training records.
  • Prepare and distribute compliance reports to WHST Superintendent.
  • Assist with regulatory, WHS and contractor audits via training evidence.
  • Coordinate ER training schedules with ER team.
  • Liaise with department supervisors to conduct training needs analyses and forecast training needs.
  • Administer training procedures and document control.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and addressing gaps in training systems, assisting with remedial actions.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
  • Manual Drivers Licence.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in training coordination, mining or heavy industry preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs and conduct assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation for mining with strong attention to statutory compliance.
  • Experience with training systems and compliance reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS legal and other requirements (Federal and state).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction in the WHS field.
  • The ability to work at both tactical and operational levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing and can consistently demonstrate strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to influence and/or persuade others.
