Job Description
Focus Minerals is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our team on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster. This role is critical to maintaining and repairing mobile equipment, with a strong emphasis on bucket rebuilds and structural maintenance to ensure reliability and safety across our fleet.
Key responsibilities include:
Carry out welding, fabrication, cutting, and structural repairs on mobile plant and attachments.
Inspect buckets, trays, booms, sticks, and structural components for cracks, wear, and defects.
Perform GET change-outs including teeth, adaptors, shrouds, and lip systems to OEM standards.
Complete bucket and tray repairs including wear packages, lips, floor plates, and structural reinforcements.
Support breakdowns and planned maintenance with structural repair requirements.
Prepare and complete JHAs, hot work permits, and follow site safety procedures.
Ensure weld quality meets OEM, site, and Australian Standard requirements (including NDT if required).
Collaborate with fitters and MEM teams during shutdowns and major repair work.
Maintain welding equipment, consumables, PPE, and ensure safe operation of all tools.
Provide repair recommendations, measurements, and documentation to planners and supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Mechanical Trade Certificate (Boilermaker).
Proven experience in mobile equipment maintenance and bucket repairs.
Strong welding and fabrication skills (including heavy plate work).
Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices.
Current WA manual driver’s licence.
Preferred tickets: Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, EWP, Forklift, Dogging, Basic Rigging.
