Job Description

 

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior UG Mining Engineer to join our Underground Mining Operations at the Coolgardie South Operations. This is an exciting time to join the company and be part of the growth and expansion of the underground operations. This role is a dynamic, hands-on role offering exposure across all facets of underground mine engineering, with responsibilities including short to LOM planning, drill and blast optimisation and leading junior engineers.

This role reports to Underground Manager and is offered on a 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO from Perth or DIDO from local Goldfield’s region.

About the role:

  • Optimise the LOM designs and schedules.
  • Incorporate Economic Evaluations into the optimisation process.
  • Incorporate infrastructure / services supporting the underground operations such as, power, pumping, ventilation etc into the planning process.
  • Provide the operations team with fit for purpose designs and plans.
  • Develop monthly rolling 3MS schedules targeted at delivering budget production.
  • Develop Stope extraction plans/notes targeted at maximising the mining recovery of the ore resource – plans to minimise ore dilution, ore loss and to maximise efficiency of the stopping cycle (drilling, bogging and backfilling).
  • Develop, implement and maintain stope reconciliation process targeted at identifying improvements to design and execution processes.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to junior Engineers to develop their skills.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor Mining Engineering Degree.
  • WA 1st Class Mine Managers’ Certificate for non-coal mines (WHS new Legislation).
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in underground mine planning with a minimum of 3 years at a Senior level.
  • Experience in narrow to wide orebody underground gold mining.
  • Proficiency in the use of Deswik mining software (Design and Scheduling).
  • Proficiency in the use of Ventsim Modelling.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
