About the role:

Focus Minerals is currently seeking a Mine Surveyor to join them on a 8/6 roster on Site. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor; Open Pit Mining, you will work with the Technical Services team and be responsible for undertaking the survey control of operations.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Provide survey support to mining operations including blast layouts, blast pickups, final design mark ups and ore mark-ups, regular batter checks, end of month survey volumes, TBM’s and inactive pit water levels.
  • Providing survey support to construction and development activities including road construction, camp construction, water bore construction, tenement claims, clearance area mark ups/pick ups.
  • Measuring quantities of material blasted.
  • Locating blast and exploration drill holes.
  • Maintain up to date survey records.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations and all survey related site work procedures.
  • Maintain a safety conscious approach to all work areas and work practices.
  • Maintain an active approach to identification and reporting of hazards and potential hazards to employees.
  • Promote a professional, high standard, results orientated approach to work focusing on continuous improvement and achieving and exceeding targets.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Mine Surveying (essential).
  • Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate (desirable).
  • CASA UAV Drone Operator’s certificate (desirable).
  • Class C WA drivers licence (essential).
  • At least two years surveying experience.
  • Sound knowledge of Trimble Survey Equipment (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Surpac.
  • Technical and practical knowledge.
  • Strong commitment to OH&S.
  • Effective communication skills.
